Vandaag begint het WK voor Nederland. De eerste wedstrijd uit groep E (samen met Japan, Denemarken en Kameroen) wordt gespeeld tussen Nederland – Denemarken. Voor de mensen die niet direct een tv in handbereik hebben, kunnen live de wedstrijd volgen via de NOS WK site. Er wordt een stormloop aan gebruikers en dan ook internetverkeer verwacht. Zodanig, dat het limiet is ingesteld 120.000 kijkers via de livestream. Wees er dus op tijd bij. De livestream start samen met de voorbeschouwing van de wedstrijd. De NOS heeft al aangegeven: vol=vol.

Door de grote hoeveelheid dataverkeer kan men tijdens de wedstrijd landelijk een vertraagde internetverbinding ondervinden, vanwege de grote drukte op de belangrijke internet knooppunten.

Update: de wedstrijd is zonder problemen verlopen. Er hebben zich geen noemenswaardige problemen voorgedaan, op enkele sites van de NOS na, welke rond 14:00 niet meer goed bereikbaar waren. De regio van Beek-Ubbergen werd op een nogal ongelukkig moment (net voor de wedstrijd) getroffen door een stroomstoring. De WK livestream trok op haar hoogtepunt 121.017 kijkers, meer dan 100GBps aan dataverkeer en zo’n 2,3 miljoen hits per minuut

Door een verstoring in de rootserver van DENIC, de beheerder van de Duitse domeinextensie .de, waren een groot aandeel van de Duitse sites uren niet bereikbaar. Het probleem is inmiddels verholpen. Meer over dit incident.

All but a very small number of instances have now recovered fully. The remaining instances are taking longer than expected to recover after power was restored. We are working to recover these remaining instances.

Error rates have fully recovered and the service is now operating normally.

We are investigating elevated errors for requests to create new Amazon EBS volumes in a single Availability Zone in the US-EAST-1 Region.

We’re very sorry to report that we are experiencing an outage with email on our Homie cluster.  To see which cluster your account is under, please check the “Account Status” drop-down in your Web Panel and check under Your Email Server and if it starts with “homiemail” you are in the affected cluster.

We hope to have this issue resolved as quickly as possible!  We will update this space once we have more information or a resolution!

Update 4:14 am – This issue is now resolved.  We have collected a lot of information about this problem and we’re fairly certain we have the cause locked down.  This will allow us to make changes that should prevent this from happening again.  In a nutshell, database updates that happen around that time are causing problems for the email servers.  Please contact support if you’re still experiencing any issues with your email.

We have completed shifting of all customer traffic away from the problematic internet paths. We believe connectivity should be restored for all customers that experienced problems. If you continue to experience problems, please use the “Report an Issue” link above and make sure to include the source IP address and a traceroute to the instance.

We are investigating connectivity issues for some instances in the EU-WEST-1 region.

The network component has been replaced and we’ve confirmed that connectivity has been restored to all affected instances.

We are investigating a small set of instances in a single availability zone in the EU-WEST-1 region which have lost connectivity.
