[20101208] Peering outage LINX [Update]

Dear Customer,

At the moment we experience some troubles in (part of) our network.

Currently we have lost 2 of our connections towards the LINX in London. Traffic is being rerouted, there might be suboptimal routing towards several networks during this outage.

[UPDATE 16:40] Our carrier is experiencing a Fibercut between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Due to heavy excavation works they are now making a temporary bypass. We have received an estimated ETR of 21:00CET.

[UPDATE 08:14] Our carrier has repaired the fiber and the circuit remained stable.

High volume router maintenance

We decided to upgrade the software used by one of our high volume routers. The router will be rebooted and its downtime shouldn’t exceed 10-15 minutes. During the reboot customers with IP’s within the ranges below will have no connectivity.



The maintenance will take place between 6:00 and 6:30 on Friday 10 Dec 2010 CET (UTC+1).

[UPDATE 13:30] We found out that one of our carriers was leaking some of our prefixes more specific which affected the inbound traffic of our high volume routers due to filtering or capacity issues on their network. We have stopped announcing our high volume prefixes to them untill this has been sorted out.

the backbone router of KPN has crashed due to load.

They are taking pre-causions to prevent this in the future
