DWDM maintenance

Dear Customer,

We are going to switchover our active DWDM fiber to an alternate path. No services should be affected however there is a possibility that some waves will flap, so small temporary packet loss is possible for part of our services.

The maintenance will take place at 21th of October 2009 between 6:00 and 6:30 CEST (GMT+2).

Maintenance at Easynet room 2A

We will replace the current uplinks which are directly connected to our primary switch.
This exercise will also be used as a redundancy test.

In the new setup all 100Mbps UTP uplinks will be connected via the new cables on the patch panels.

Two short outages can be expected for those customers that have their secondary uplink connected.
Customers who have received an email from us that their redundant uplink is not working can expect a downtime during the whole maintenance window.

Router software upgrade [Update]

We have scheduled a software upgrade of one router.
Six weeks ago we upgraded this router due to some possible bugs in network performance. The currently running version has a bug with memory leaks.
To resolve the memory leaks we will upgrade to a newer version IOS.

The reload of the router should take 5 to 10 minutes.

This router crashed yesterday due to a software crash.

The reload of the router should take 5 to 10 minutes.

Customers within these ranges will be offline during the reload.

Router is booting now we suspect to have it online in a few minutes.

Router is back online. We are investigating the reason for the crash.

The crash looks the same as the crash we had last Friday. The software version we had planned to upgrade tomorrow is now running after the reboot. We are still checking all the logs we have to confirm it was a software crash and not a hardware crash.
