[US, SFO-12] Scheduled emergency maintenance: Network maintenance on our core network

As part of our commitment to continually improve the level of service LeaseWeb provides, we want to inform you about the upcoming emergency maintenance on our core network.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

On the 7th of March 2018, between 13:00 – 13:30 CET (04:00 – 04:30 PST local time), we will be performing emergency network maintenance on our core infrastructure in San Jose, location SFO-12.

During this maintenance, you might experience brief packet loss or higher than usual latency to your services in our SFO-12 data center.

WHY ARE YOU PERFORMING THIS MAINTENANCE?

This emergency maintenance will be required in order to mitigate the recent flood of DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks targeting our SFO-12 data center.

WHEN EXACTLY WILL MY SERVICE BE IMPACTED?

The expected maintenance window will be 30 minutes, and we expect your services to remain online and reachable.

Between 05:00 – 08:30 CET (04:00 – 07:30 UTC) you might have experienced higher than usual latency or packet loss to and from our SFO-12 data center.

We observed degraded network performance when traffic traversed two of our transit carriers.

Our engineers have re-routed traffic for our SFO-12 data center in order to mitigate these issues, therefor you might have experienced connectivity issues while the network was converging.

We are closely monitoring connectivity, and further updates will follow through this NOC post.
