Storage problems on Express Cloud platforms [Update]

Time: August 31st 2012 01:07:00
Dear Customer,

For a currently unknown reason the primary head of our storage system used for a large part of our Express Cloud crashed. This caused our storage system to fail-over to the standby head.

Currently everything is running on the secondary head however this probably caused problems on the VM's placed on this system. Since currently also customers are restarting their VM's this will cause extra load on the system.

If you encounter problems with your VPS which can't be solved by a reboot please contact us on [email protected].

Update @ 13:40
We have received an update that the datacentre in Frankfurt has a power outage. Our engineers are working on this with the highest priority. We will update when there is more information available.

Update @ 13:45
Power is restored and services are booting. BGP sessions are restoring between routers, however traffic flow is currently disabled on the impacted routers due to ARP load. Once load is recovered we will start enabling interfaces. This rule applies to the legacy network. The new environment is online and ARP is relearning.

Update @ 14:15
Currently the routers are almost all restored. One router in Wuppertal is still offline due to load. This will take some time to restore. We will enable interface-per-interface for this router.

Update @ 14:40
After enabling interface-per-interface the wupertal router 1 crashed. We are therefore still working on fixing the last remaining router. Please stand-by for updates on this page.

Update @ 15:31
Wupertal router 1 is stable again and is in operation.
If you still see issues please contact support.
